YouTube is a great place to upload video content.
YouTube has become synonymous with online video.
YouTube has more than 1.9 billion active monthly users, and they watch one billion hours of videos every day. That’s equivalent to over 114,000 years worth of video consumption EVERY DAY.
The best YouTube content creators make hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars per day. Ironically, making money and being successful on YouTube have little to do with creating videos.
How do you get YouTube to be successful?
Today, I will share with you some techniques that top YouTubers have used to show you exactly what you should and shouldn’t do when creating YouTube content.
Select the right topic for the right audience
What is the secret to success on YouTube?
You, as a creator, have very little to do with it.
Your videos can be funny, charismatic, and intelligent, but if they don’t add value, then they are worthless.
You don’t need to be concerned about what you want. You’re unlikely to be successful if you go to YouTube to gain something.
Focus on your audience. It would be best if you focused on your audience.
YouTube: Find the perfect audience
Answer this question before you begin working on your script and storyboard.
Understanding your audience will help you to make the best decisions about your video.
You need to look deeper if you cannot answer these questions. These questions will help you create and plan your video.
Throw perfection out of the window.
It can be tempting, when you see the videos of big-name YouTubers, to think that you must create a video like theirs to engage a large audience at once. But all those thoughts can paralyze.
I believe we are all on the same level, whether you run a business or you’re an independent creator. We all started somewhere …”

Many people are worried about making everything perfect right from the start. We stop creating or releasing content because we are so concerned about having the ideal equipment or parts.
What can you do when you are stuck trying to make it perfect?
If I don’t make these changes, will my audience be unable to understand the message of the video?
Does the video as it is achieve your goals?
Is there something wrong in the video that could have a negative impact on the viewer?
What will be the worst-case scenario if we release the current version as it is?
Could the time spent editing be better used on another project instead?
After answering these questions, allow yourself to move forward. You will be limited if you spend too much time trying to create the perfect video.
You want to make sure that your content is found. SEO is a complex task, but it doesn’t mean you have to do all of it at once. We talked to some creators who gave us a few simple suggestions.
Andrew Kan of TubeBuddy recommends that you focus your content on a particular topic or niche, as this will make it more searchable. This will also help ensure the right audience finds your content.
He said that many people waste time searching for broad terms, which are so competitive they will never show up. If you don’t run and have only practiced one time, you won’t win the race. Practicing and understanding that being specific makes you more discoverable helps you succeed.
Jeremy Vest suggests that in addition to focusing on specific topics, you should make sure your content answers the questions of your audience.
He said: “Match the search intent to ‘how can I fix this blank?’ and you will sell blanks.” Instead of talking about your widget, answer questions that are being asked. This is one of the easiest ways to get brands started in this environment. They’ll be surprised by the things you do. Bring in guests that they would not expect. “Give them more than they could ever imagine.”
Consider the type of questions and where they are asked to make sure your content is helpful and easily found. You can then create the content you need and post it in the places where it is most likely to be found.
YouTube Search
The YouTube search engine is one of your best options for finding what you are looking for. If you have an idea for a piece of content, try a quick YouTube Search to see what results come back.
Look at the results of your search and determine if there is room for a unique version.
Choose topics you are passionate about and also those that will be relevant to your audience.
YouTube can help narrow down your topic ideas.
Enter keywords in the search bar to find YouTube.
The auto-suggest/autocomplete feature will give you additional keywords that YouTube suggests.
This is an example of what happened when I entered “tutorial videos” in the search bar. A list of topics is displayed below.
Write down the terms you have found. After all your research, you may discover that one video could cover many of the same subjects or that a series of them is possible.
As a starting point, I would focus on video editing, background music, and video ideas.
Comment section
You can find a wealth of information on YouTube videos by reading the comments sections in articles and videos.
Many viewers suggest topics for future content or ask questions to help them.
Start by looking at the YouTube channel of a competitor and then start reading through their comments.
Communities and Groups
Find like-minded individuals who can inspire and support you along the way.
Do not let yourself be discouraged by thinking you have to do it all alone.
Ask questions and bounce off ideas with a group. You may even find some new (and better) topics for your first video.
Ask your audience
Asking your audience what they want to see is a good idea, even if it’s a small group.
It’s a great way to find out what your viewers want to learn, watch, or know.

If you want to make high-quality videos on YouTube, you should consider the following basic equipment (outside your phone).
Microphone
A mic can be used on your mobile phone to record directly on your camera or digital recorder. It will enhance the quality of your video. It is worth investing in a decent microphone, even if it’s not expensive.
Screen Recorder and Video Editor
Choose a screen-recording software that has recording, editing, and sharing capabilities built in. This will save you time by allowing you to do all your work with one program.
You can create a YouTube video by recording your screen. We at TechSmith think Camtasia makes the best video editing software for novices. It has the flexibility and power to grow with you.

Lighting
video light can make a huge difference to the quality of your video, whether you are using a webcam or a camera.
The lights can even enhance the appearance of videos on mobile devices and be an excellent investment. When you first start, lights don’t need to be expensive. Lighting is both science and art. A basic set of lights will help you make a video that looks professional.
Camera or webcam
Cameras are large investments that can range from hundreds of dollars to thousands.
DSLRs and other high-end camera models can dramatically improve the look of your videos, but they also come with a lot of options and settings that must be managed. This increases the complexity of shooting your video.
An external webcam is an inexpensive way to improve video quality. The built-in webcams on most computers are of low quality compared to external cameras.
Don’t forget that you have an excellent camera in your bag, pocket, or backpack. Many smartphones today can record videos in full HD (1080p), and some can even 4K.
